How what you eat shapes the results of your PRP and BMAC treatment

When you invest in a regenerative procedure like platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC), you're mobilizing your body's own healing machinery. What you eat in the weeks surrounding treatment can meaningfully influence how well that machinery performs.

Biologic therapies work by delivering a concentrated dose of growth factors and stem cells to injured tissue, then relying on your physiology to build new collagen, blood vessels, and cartilage matrix. Every one of those repair processes depends on raw materials that come from your diet. Adequate protein supplies the amino acids needed to rebuild tendon and ligament tissue. Vitamin C is essential for collagen cross-linking, while zinc, copper, and vitamin D support cell signaling and bone remodeling. Omega-3 fatty acids help regulate a healthy, balanced inflammatory response - the kind that promotes healing rather than lingering swelling.

Just as important is what you avoid. Excess sugar and heavily processed foods can drive chronic inflammation and impair the very repair response we're trying to amplify. Smoking and heavy alcohol use constrict blood flow and blunt tissue regeneration, potentially undercutting your results.

Think of your PRP or BMAC treatment as planting a seed. The biologics are the seed; your nutrition, hydration, and overall health are the soil. Rich, well-prepared soil gives that seed the best possible chance to take root and flourish.

Before your procedure, talk with our team about optimizing your nutrition - it's one of the simplest ways to get more from your investment in healing.
