Dr. Woolf recently performed a rotator cuff and bicep tendon repair on my shoulder and I couldn’t be happier with hie expertise, vast experience and friendly but professional manner. I’m a retired Operating Room RN and I research any Surgeon very well before “signing on” to trust them with my healthcare needs. I have full range of motion and strength, as well as trust that Dr. Woolf was instrumental in making this happen: from pre-op conditioning, the actual surgery and his recommendations for post-op Physical Therapy, the whole process couldn’t have gone smoother. Back to golf and other sports activities thanks to Dr. Woolf and the team at Charleston Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Centers.

I went in to see Dr. Woolf for a hip impingement. He took the time to look over my chart and see that I had hip replacement. He thoroughly went through some of my options, but was not being persuasive at all. We talked about getting a cortisone shot with ultrasound. He was vey honest and told me he had a colleague that was more experienced in this procedure. He left the room to make some calls to his colleagues and see when they would be able to do it. He came back and said he had two Dr that were very good at this and could do it today or tomorrow. The receptionist said I was not allowed to see two different Dr in one visit. Dr Friedman said he would come in at 10:30 the following day. This is another Dr in the practice that was wonderful. He spent the time explaining everything and what my situation was. I had bursitis in my hip and this happened to many patients after hip replacement. Both these Dr had phenomenal bed side manner and were true gentlemen. Highly recommend both!!

I was so blessed that Dr. Shane Woolf was recommended to me for shoulder replacement surgery. Throughout the whole period of pre-op, surgery and post op , he has made me feel as though I was his only patient. The care I received at MUSC was outstanding and truly professional. I have recommended Dr. Woolf a number of times recently and those patients were so grateful for my recommendation. I cannot thank him enough for my care and I know that anyone who goes to see him will feel exactly the same way. Thank you so very much. Steve Milligan

At my first visit with Dr. Woolf he offered 4 options for treatment of my injured knee. He had reviewed my prior exrays, talked to the previous Physican, and discussed the pros and cons of each option. When the MRI results were in, Dr.Woolf reviewed and explained every picture. We came to a decision and he scheduled a surgery appointment as soon as possible. He is a knowledgeable professional with excellent patient skills. All appointments were on time and he never seemed rushed.

Love Dr Woolf! He's an excellent physician, reserved demeanor but friendly and kind. Spends a long time with patients until all questions are answered. He's completely professional, non-judgmental and never condescending. I trust his advice completely.

He can diagnose sometimes without MRI, because of his experience. Explains the injury and options for rehab in thoughtful manner. He reminds millennial residents of their manners when necessary.

I was a bit hesitant to see Dr. Ohlson because of a few negative reviews. Well I am so glad I kept my appointment. I had a wonderful visit today. Dr. Ohlson was on time. He listened to what I had to say. He and his staff gave me a thorough evaluation. Dr. Ohlson explained everything to me every step of the way. He gave me direct relief for my knee issues and a plan of how to best move forward. He asked if I had any questions and answered them all. He gave me his time and professional energy. He is personable and professional. What more could I ask?

I have had 2 ankle surgeries by Dr. Ohlson, and both times, my experience was nothing but excellent.
The first surgery was when I was 17, and 8 years later, I had tendon damage that caused my foot to be very flat, so I needed another surgery. I no longer lived in the lowcountry, so I tried to find a more local surgeon. I had a really bad experience, though, so I figured I should see about going back to Dr. Ohlson since he’d done my first surgery, and I’m so glad that I did.
He got me in the same week (after I’d been jerked around by my local surgeon, who had no idea what to do to help me, for over 6 months). Within five minutes of my appointment, Dr. Ohlson knew exactly what was wrong with me and what I needed to have done. He scheduled me a surgery for the next week. Of course, the surgery went fantastic and my foot has been doing great since then. His PA was also absolutely fantastic.

I’m actually concerned I have the same initial issue on my other foot now, and I’d rather make the trip to the other end of the state again just to stick with Dr. Ohlson, instead of rolling the dice and hoping for a good experience with a surgeon closer to where I live now.

I really cannot overstate how knowledgable, professional, and skilled Dr. Ohlson is. He is a fantastic surgeon.

I never got the chance to say Thank you so much. My toe was broken and you took the time to help me. When I couldn't walk cause my foot hurt. And my last doctor kept telling me it was in my head. Thank you for listening.

I am active duty in the Army and stationed in Germany. I injured my foot in July and have not been given a diagnosis. While on leave, Dr. Ohlson squeezed me into his schedule as I am only here for 2 weeks. He was able to finally tell me what was wrong. That same day, I had treatment to my foot and we made a game plan on treating my foot to the best of his ability given my short stay. I am finally relieved to know exactly what is wrong with my foot and what we need to do to fix it. When I come back stateside, I will be a patient and highly recommend him to anyone who is having problems with other doctors giving you the run around.
